2016 MISS DEAF AFRICA

The Miss Deaf Africa event was organised in Durbanville High, Durbanville, Cape Town South Africa on 30th July 2016.  This is an international annual event with the following ultimate aims:-

• To improve lives and to change the awareness of the deaf and hearing communities.
•  To uplift the young girls and to encourage them to be proud of their Deaf culture and in the same way to promote Sign Language in their communities.
• To get involved in the lives and to be role models for other deaf woman and deaf organizations and hearing woman in their own country and Africa.

Malawi was represented by Tione Kalua a young deaf lady from Mzuzu branch.
